Services

wills and estate planning

I assist individuals and families with wills and estate planning to ensure their wishes are clearly documented and legally effective. Thoughtful planning provides certainty, protects loved ones, and helps avoid unnecessary conflict, delay, and expense during an already difficult time.

My work in this area is grounded in a careful understanding of the Wills, Estates and Succession Act, as well as practical experience supporting clients through life transitions with clarity and care.

I am particularly focused on planning that addresses:

  • Guardianship of minor children

  • Asset protection and distribution clarity

  • Reducing the risk of disputes or challenges

  • Culturally informed and values-based decision-making

investigations

I conduct investigations involving complaints of  discrimination, harassment, racism, misconduct and breaches of professional or organizational standards.

My investigation work is informed by advanced training, tribunal and adjudicative experience, and a strong understanding of procedural fairness and human rights principles.

I am particularly experienced in matters involving:

  • Power imbalances

  • Indigenous-specific racism

  • Public-facing or regulated environments

  • Trauma-impacted participants

  • Reputational and organizational risk

mediation

As a trained mediator and Associate Roster Member of Mediate BC, I support individuals and groups in resolving conflict through structured, compassionate, and effective dialogue.

Services include:

  • Commercial and business disputes

  • Governance conflict and disputes

  • Estate disputes

  • Conflict coaching for individuals and leadership teams

  • Group facilitation in complex or fractured environments

Where appropriate and requested, I integrate Indigenous approaches, such as sharing circles and Elder-supported processes, alongside Western dispute resolution frameworks.

CIRCLE WORK

When individuals come into conflict, my role is not to judge, assign blame, or decide who is right. I do not force resolution or impose outcomes. I focus on creating a safe, grounded, and respectful space, where truth can surface, responsibility can be taken, and repair can begin.

Healing may take different forms. Sometimes it shows up in repairing relationships with others. Sometimes it involves restoring trust within a workplace, family, or community. And sometimes, it begins with a deeper relationship with oneself. All of these are valid and meaningful outcomes.

At the heart of my work is a simple but important understanding: conflict is not the enemy. Unaddressed harm is.

Conflict often signals that something is out of balance, within a person, between people, or within a wider circle such as a family, organization, or community. When conflict is ignored or mishandled, harm can deepen and relationships can fracture. When it is approached with care and accountability, conflict can become a pathway to meaningful change.

My role is to support that process with integrity, so that difficult conversations can be held safely, harm can be acknowledged, and people can move forward.
